Scenic & Costume Design for the Opening Show

For the grand opening of the Arte Xcaret Hotel in Riviera Maya, a unique live show was conceived to celebrate Mayan culture and mythology, inspired by pre-Columbian legends such as Kukulcán and the Aluxes. The project involved designing and producing sets and costumes capable of withstanding the Caribbean’s high temperatures, humidity, and acrobatic performance constraints. A major part of the process focused on researching materials and technical solutions with the creative and workshop teams to ensure durability and aesthetic coherence.

Working with a five-person production team, and through the implementation of various fabrication systems — including screen printing, molding, 3D printing, and CNC cutting — more than 52 unique models of sets and costumes were created. My role involved supervising design quality, ensuring consistency with the creative direction, and meeting delivery deadlines, contributing to a technically ambitious and visually stunning show.
